On the eve of taking up his new position as head of Pegasos Swiss Association in Switzerland, former Exit Director Sean Davison has been arrested at his home in Bournemouth in the UK.

Sean has been charged with assisting with the suicide of a UK woman (name withheld) who he is alleged to have taken to Pegasos at the end of June 2024.

Sean was visited at home by 10 local police who spent 8 hours searching his house. He was taken into custody for 30 hours and has been bailed to appear in October.

Sean’s three passports have been seized, along with that of his Chinese national wife, Raine.

Sean has been prohibited from speaking to any of the more than 80 right to die groups globally.

In April this year, the Exit board made the difficult decision to let Sean go.

Philip Nitschke (director of Exit) said ‘we were pleased to help Sean establish a new life for himself and his family in the UK following his release from home detention for the three murders he was found guilty of in South Africa’.

Sean stood down as a director of Exit in January this year. His contract with Exit ended in April.

The mutual and friendly parting of ways was announced at the May London Exit workshop.

In his resignation letter to Dr Philip Nitschke, Sean wrote:

I will be forever grateful to you and Fiona for not only giving me the opportunity to serve Exit International, but for being the driving force for getting my family (and dogs) out of South Africa, to the safe and secure environment of England …

My family and I consider you as having saved our lives! We are settled in England, and this is almost entirely due to your involvement …

I will always remain totally loyal to you and Exit International.

And your friend,

Yours in gratitude,

Sean

On his final day at Exit, he added:

[31/05/2024, 12:09:49] Sean Davison: Thank you for all the kind words (on different platforms).
I may be resigning my Exit post – but I’m not leaving you, and will still part of the Exit family for life (…and death!) Today is my last day on the job… tomorrow I’ll be on the Dorset beach in England!

Exit was pleased to have helped Sean at a time when his employment choices were scarce.
