Tasha Russell, LLB, was appointed Legal Director of Exit International in December 2016.
A graduate of Charles Darwin University Law School, Tasha completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the University of Adelaide. She is due to be admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2017. Prior to studying law, Tasha was an experienced legal secretary.
Tasha Russell says that while she has always been supportive of Voluntary Euthanasia, since joining Exit she has been especially touched by the stories of Exit members and the struggles that they face. The legal complexities of VE causes some people to die in awful circumstances or alone without their loved ones.
Rather than pursue a career in the law, Tasha has since decided to devote herself full time to assisting Exit’s aim of advocating for rational suicide to be legalised across the world: thereby giving the elderly and seriously ill options to die in a peaceful, dignified manner.
The mother of two young children, with her husband, Tasha lives in Western Australia.
