September 2019 Update
The September 2019 Update to the Peaceful Pill eHandbook is now published.
This month's update is a re-write of the Lethal Inorganic Salts chapter with an additional six pages that focus on the new information becoming available on the use of sodium azide and sodium nitrite as effective end of life drugs.
The inorganic salts have been the disruptors of the rational suicide/ voluntary euthanasia movement over the past 18 months. From the first mention of 'Middel X' by Dutch group CLW, and Exit's work on the 'Aussie Pig Poison', there has been a growing interest in the role of these salts - do they really offer the legal, reliable, peaceful and available end of life option claimed?
As more information on their use becomes available, it is important to update the material provided in the Peaceful Pill eHandbook.
New sections have been added detailing some of the benefits (and problems) of azide, along with a section on methods of potentiating and testing nitrite. The growing evidence of the usefulness of these salts is summarised and comparisons made with an update to their rating on the Reliability, Peacefulness & Availability (RPA) Index
In addition, some background to the strong (and largely unsubstantiated) opposition to the use of these substances by various medical experts is also provided and explained, along with details on how Exit is continuing to gather accurate information on their use.
Exit believes that the salts provide a real option that is worthy of serious consideration.
* Translations of all language editions will be completed in the coming week.
